Humanoid robots performed surgery

Two humanoid robots just performed a real surgery.
No twelve-hundred-pound console. No dedicated operating suite.
Just a robot, a controller, and a surgeon on the other end.
UC San Diego proved it works.
One team paired a robot with a human surgeon for a gallbladder removal. A second team was two robots working side by side.
Same precision as existing surgical robots. A fraction of the cost and the space.
The next surgical platform might not look like a machine. It might look like us.
